Located just on the edge of Sparsholt village, with its well known pub/restaurant and wonderfully quaint village shop, you will feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle of daily life, yet be just a short drive from the magnificent cathedral city of Winchester.
The location of Crabwood Cottages also offers an ideal base to explore the wider South of England with easy access to Salisbury as well as the local towns of Stockbridge and Romsey, The New Forest with all it has to offer, Isle of Wight, London, Bath and Stonehenge are just a few accessible day trips, not to mention Peppa Pig World!

THE OLD TRACTOR BARN
The Old Tractor Barn has been tastefully converted into a light and airy rural holiday accommodation with lovely views over rolling fields and forest. Being situated right on a bridleway leading to wonderful woodland and rolling countryside, it offers beautiful walks and cycle routes on your doorstep.

There is a community-run village shop within half a mile and The Plough, an excellent pub/restaurant within three quarters of a mile. The village is also lucky to have Lainston House Country Hotel just down the road, providing a perfect venue for a special afternoon tea or early evening cocktail!

The Hayloft is ideally suited for couples wanting to get away from it all! It has been tastefully converted to provide a wonderful open space making the most of the spectacular views.

Upstairs has a lounge and sleeping area/ensuite and a sitting area/kitchen downstairs. In memory of its past life, the snooker/pool table still exists so for those that want a go...go for it! A veranda and balcony allow you to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside watching the horses grazing in the nearby fields or spot the chickens pecking around. A wonderful selection of breakfast goodies is supplied for you to eat at your own leisure.
WARNING:- As the photos show, there are low beams on either side of the room upstairs. If you are very tall, the ensuite is compromised.

MARWELL ZOO
Marwell Zoo is a 140-acre zoo situated at Owslebury near Winchester, in the English county of Hampshire. It is owned and run by the registered charity Marwell Wildlife. The zoo is home to over 1,200 animals of 235 different species. The charity undertakes a range of educational and conservation activities, with a particular focus on Africa in addition to work from its base.
WATERCRESS LINE STEAM RAILWAY
The Mid-Hants Railway is a preserved heritage steam railway, operating in Hampshire, between Alresford and Alton. For those whose children are besotted with Thomas the Tank and his friends, you can go and meet them! Great real ale trips and special dinner events - a great experience for all the family. Do look on their website for further details!
FINKLEY DOWN FARM
A fabulous day out for all the young family with touch feely with many different animals and a wonderful play areas with trampolines, huge slides, zip wires - the kids will be exhausted and sleep well that night!
STONEHENGE
Do I need to give any explanation?!
DANEBURY HILL FORT AND VINEYARD
Danebury is one of the most extensively studied hill forts in Europe. 'Iron Age' describes the period between the end of the Bronze Age and the start of the Roman period, 700BC - AD43. Evidence found suggests that the Fort was built 2500 years ago and occupied for nearly 500 years until the arrival of the Romans. Please note: you cannot take dogs into the actual fort area but there is a lovely walk around the perimeter.
MOTTISFONT ABBEY
Visit the National Trust's Mottisfont, a historical priory, garden and country estate in Hampshire. Fantastic for all ages and a must in the month of June for one of the most breathtaking rose gardens in the UK.
PAULTONS PARK AND PEPPA PIG WORLD
Paultons Family Theme Park - Home of Peppa Pig World is located in the village of Ower, near Romsey, in Hampshire, England. The theme park has 60 rides and attractions - way too much for one day apparently!
IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE US...
DIRECTIONS
From Winchester city centre, follow signs to Stockbridge. After approx. 2 miles of leaving the city you need to follow signs to Sparsholt on the left hand side. Carry on through the village with the church on your right hand side and you will see a cattery sign after approx. half a mile on your right hand side. Follow this up a dirt track and you will find The Old Tractor Barn on your right hand side after the cattery and just before the big green barn.

For The Hayloft you will need to stay on the dirt track until you are just past the large barn then turn into the driveway and you can park in front of the garage. You will find The Hayloft entrance to the left hand side of the garage, under the external stairs.
